My first memory BEFORE I was born was Guinness but, AFTER I was born, it was the sound of bombs in London FOLLOWED by a second baptism in the wild North Sea in an open boat while the family, pulling in fish, smiled as I yelled my head off! SO . . . . It is not surprising that my happiest moments were spent commercial fishing off the East Coast.
Just recently I enjoyed a front row seat listening to the LSO Performing Bruckner 9 in our local concert hall; so overwhelming emotionally that it took me days to recover! Is there anyone out there who is blown over by music as easily as me? It even worries me that I react so strongly to our weekly concerts. The audience seems so nonchalant,(SO English?) as they stroll out of the hall while it will take ME so long to “come down”. That's why I enjoyed my years living in Firenze, Venezia and Wien SO much!
